Capella University Adjunct Faculty Member Awarded a Fulbright ...

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Patrick Blessinger, an adjunct faculty member for Capella University, an accredited, fully online university, has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant to lecture at EUC Nordvestsjælland and Salendia Colleges in Denmark during the 2007 fall term.

Blessinger, who teaches marketing courses in Capella's School of Undergraduate Studies, will lecture to students on the topic of U.S. marketing concepts and will spend time with their faculty, administration, and community leaders discussing U.S. marketing, entrepreneurship, and workforce development practices. Blessinger plans to continue teaching for the online university while he is abroad.

KC Southern gains as Buffett boosts Burlington stake

Shares of Kansas City Southern jumped more than a dollar in morning trading after news that famed Omaha investor Warren Buffett had acquired nearly 11 percent of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corp.

Kansas City Southern shares joined those of other railroad companies in reaching their highest prices in 52 weeks. Shares of the Kansas City-based carrier gained $1.12, or 3.14 percent, to $36.77 on the New York Stock Exchange. Shares traded as high as $37.19, topping the previous 52-week high of $36.64.

Berkshire Hathaway Inc., headed by Buffett, had reported late Friday that it had owned nearly 37.4 million shares of Burlington. It then posted purchases of 1.6 million more shares made on Wednesday and Thursday at more than $81 a share.

Its Burlington stake is worth $3.46 billion at mid-morning share prices of $89.72, a jump of $6 a share from Friday's closing price.

The teachers were recognized for having the greatest number of students to enter in the competition.
